President Trump has announced Deputy AG Todd Blanche to be #2 in charge behind Matt Gaetz, and Emil Bove to serve as interim Acting DAG in case the Senate drag their feet on confirmations.
This makes a very quick transition period in Main Justice with President Trump officials immediately taking charge.
With nominated Attorney General Matt Gaetz as the Mother of all Bombs (MOAB), in comes the insurance policy, Todd Blanche, as the A-10 Warthog strafing the scattering Lawfare members.
Emil Bove flying the circling Specter above the battlefield.
This Main Justice plan has been in the works for a long time, you can clearly see it.
Blanche and Bove are the lawyers who represented President Trump in the New York trial (Judge Merchan).
Now selected as the #2 and #3 spots at the Department of Justice.
#4 is John Dean Sauer as Solicitor General
Blanche and Bove are both alumni of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office, where Blanche was co-chief of the violent crimes unit.
Bove was co-chief of the Manhattan USAO national security unit. Look for Bove to take over DOJ-NSD when all confirmations are settled.
Todd Blanche is a serious, stable and likeable blue-collar guy.
He advanced himself to the most prestigious federal prosecutor’s office in the country by attending night classes at Brooklyn Law School while working during the day as a paralegal.

The A10 Warthog was the plane at Myrtle Beach AFB in 1976 whe I was an airman stationed there for 4 years.
I especially liked the Sundance comment,

“When a PAS position becomes vacant, there are three types of officials who may carry out the duties of the office in an acting capacity, without Senate confirmation
1. The “first assistant” becomes the acting officer unless the president designates another individual from the other two eligible classes of officials. The Vacancies Act does not define “first assistant,” but the term has generally been interpreted to mean the top deputy to the position.
2. The president may designate as the acting official an individual who serves in another PAS position anywhere in the federal government.
3. The president may designate as the acting official, an agency employee who is paid at the GS-15 rate or above and who has been an employee of the agency for at least 90 of the past 365 days preceding the vacancy.
In March 2017, the Supreme Court ruled in National Labor Relations Board v. SW General, Inc. that the Vacancies Act generally prohibits a person from serving in an acting capacity while concurrently the nominee for the position, though there are some exceptions.”
